Keep eye on levels as well from my tests hitfim expects anything that.s mp4 to be 16-235 and will hard clip if you pass it 0-255 in that wrapper. Wiped my computers and was reinstalling everything and Hitfilm Express is gone.

If the Editor sequence is the HitFilm's equivalent of working in an Adobe Premiere or Apple iMovie, then Composite Shot timelines are closer to using Adobe After Effects. To me the big advantage of the integration is you can treat hitfilm as a frame server to vegas, proxy it check the output with scopes do final levels adjustments match with other footage etc. Saying that the auto proxy in vegas works great with hitfilm shots to you can render it like that work in preview and then render both for the final result. I think the integration is a little bit of a gimmick except for the lightest of effects, if you have a heavily composite shot in hitfilm it's still got to render and won't play well in vegas, that's not anyone's fault just what it is it takes time to render.
